Merida City Tour

This tour introduces you to the history of the walled "White City", Merida. From the oldest cathedral in the Americas on the town square. Along the Paseo de Montejo, with its grandiose European style mansions. Through the neighborhood barrios. This fascinating tour provides a wonderful and overview of this vibrant city and its warm populace.

Uxmal is one of the major Mayan cities of the "post classic" period. Incredible restored structures, of the Puuc architectural style. You will marvel at the size and scope of one the finest sites in the Yucatan. As you visit and explore some of the 18th century haciendas that have been restored to their former glory, you begin to understand the wealth and power of the sisal barons.

Mayapan, the last great walled city of the Mayan civilization is also one of the most beautiful of the great archeological sites. A rival to the great city of Uxmal with a history drenched in blood and conflict. Tecoh, with its great colonial Church formed part of the great 16th century "Convent Route" and is a true Yucatecan colonial town. You'll visit and get to swim in a beautiful underground cenote.

This tour takes you to the Mayan city of Dzibilichaltun, a center of both trade and worship for over two thousand years, featuring a visit to the Temple of Seven Dolls. You'll get to swim in one it's sacred cenotes before traveling on to the port town of Progreso. Enjoy some time exploring the beach and restaurants in this colorful little port town.

Celestun

CelstunThe petrified forest and mangroves of this nature preserve provide sanctuary to largest pink flamingo habitats in the northern hemisphere. Explore the reserve by boat, in this incredible nature preserve. Afterwards explore the rustic beach fishing community of Celestun.

Ek-Balam is one of the major Mayan cities, a contemporary to - and rival of - the city states of Tikal and Palenque, founded in the Classic period (200AD to 900AD) this enormous city is still being explored, and still revealing new secrets. Recently a newly excavated royal tomb revealed over 7,000 new artifacts. The colonial town of Valladolid, a quiet town with a history going back to colonial times was the starting place of Caste Wars that tore the Yucatan apart at the end of the 19th century, a turning point in the history of the Yucatan.

Chichen Itza

Chichen ItzaOften hailed as the Seventh Wonder of the World, a visit to this UNESCO World Heritage site is certainly the best known archeological site in the Yucatan. A day long visit and tour of this spectacular Maya-Toltec city and its famous cenotes is a must for all first time visitors to the Yucatan. Spectacular restorations on a colossal scale make for a fascinating day long trip.

Izamal & Chichen Itza

In addition to visiting Chichen Itza, this tour takes a side trip to the famed "yellow city" of Izamal. Famous for its Franciscan monastery, constructed on top of the pyramid in this ancient Mayan capital, it boasts what is claimed to be the largest courtyard in the Americas. Another stop on the Convent Route on a beautiful colonial town.
